Art Dubai invites galleries to apply for its ninth edition that runs from March 18 to 21, 2015. Held in partnership with The Abraaj Group, the fair takes place at Madinat Jumeirah.

Art Dubai is known as a particularly innovative event, and one that takes a truly global approach to today’s art world. The leading international fair in the Middle East and South Asia, Art Dubai places an emphasis on maintaining an intimate, human scale while foregrounding quality and diversity. Selected galleries range from world-renowned dealers to upcoming artspaces.

Art Dubai features three gallery programmes:

Contemporary includes two exhibition halls dedicated to galleries and art spaces. Proposals are considered by a gallery- and curator-led Selection Committee and the process is highly competitive. Art Dubai Contemporary tends to be extraordinarily diverse. In 2014 the halls featured 70 galleries from 28 countries, from the world’s most influential galleries to dynamic young art spaces. Art Dubai accepts applications from commercial galleries and not-for-profit spaces working in the primary market, established for at least two years.

Modern, launched in 2014, is dedicated to modern masters of the twentieth century, (re)considered through solo and two-person shows. The programme focuses on artists from the Middle East, South Asia and—new in 2015—from across Africa. Art Dubai Modern is devoted to modern art from the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, presented by regionally and internationally based galleries. Proposals are considered and discussed with the applicants by a curatorial board; key advisors to Art Dubai Modern include the renowned historians and curators Savita Apte, Catherine David, Kristine Khouri and Nada Shabout.

Marker is a curated programme within the Contemporary hall, focusing each year on a particular theme or geography. By invitation only, the theme and curator for Marker 2015 will be announced shortly.

Sir Alexander Chapman "Alex" Ferguson

(born 31 December 1941) is a former Scottish football manager and player who managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. His time at the club has led to Ferguson being regarded as one of the most successful, admired and respected managers in the history of the game.^[5]
 
Ferguson managed East Stirlingshire and St. Mirren before a highly successful period as manager of Aberdeen. After briefly managing Scotland following the death of Jock Stein, he was appointed manager of Manchester United in November 1986.

 One Sunday in December of 2011, After seated with no plans of going anywhere I had decided to take sometime to try out a sketch of this legendary European figure. 

Since I was unprepared, I could not get my pencils (for I did not remember where I had placed them the last time i had used them, and plus I did not want to bother) so I picked the pen I was using to fill in that Sunday newspaper's crossword puzzle and begun sketching.

It took me half an hour to get the first sketch I could call "starting point". From there I guess the ball pen did the rest. 

After approximately two hurs and plenty of minutes now I was ready to step back and look at the sketch I had made from my critic length, that's what I call it.

Ferguson is the longest serving manager of Manchester United, overtaking Sir Matt Busby's record on 19 December 2010, eventually completing more than 26-and-a-half years as the club's manager. He has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history. In 2008, he became the third British manager to win the European Cup on more than one occasion. He was knighted in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours list, for his services to the game.^[6]

On 8 May 2013, Ferguson announced his retirement as manager of Manchester United. During his 26 years at the club, he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League titles
